Biography

Dr. Yin Shen received his Ph.D. from Huazhong Agricultural University. He is currently an Associate Professor and Master's Supervisor in the Department of Biomedical Information Engineering, School of Biomedical Engineering, Anhui Medical University.

His research focuses on deep-learning algorithm development, computational biology, and biomedical big-data analysis, with emphasis on gene regulation and 3D chromatin architecture. He has published more than 10 SCI papers in journals including Science Advances, Briefings in Bioinformatics, Genomics, Proteomics and Bioinformatics, npj Systems Biology and Applications, and BMC Genomics, and serves as PI of a National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Youth Science Fund project.

Research funding

Teaching and mentoring

As first supervising faculty, has guided undergraduate students to awards including a National Third Prize in the National Undergraduate Biomedical Engineering Innovation Design Competition and a Gold Award in the Anhui Provincial College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, among other national and provincial honors. Mentors undergraduate and graduate students in 3D genomics, deep-learning methods, and biomedical big-data analysis.
